BATON ROUGE – Phil Frost, director of BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, was recently elected chair of the board for Species360, an international data sharing company aiding over 1,000 member institutions, including the global community of zoos, aquariums and other wildlife organizations in more than 90 countries. Frost has served on the board for Species360 for five years prior to this election.

Species360’s mission is to aid members in saving endangered animals from extinction. Created by the members to advance global collaboration and information sharing, Species360 Zoological Information Management Software is the gold standard in animal record-keeping. The program’s insights help members exceed their conservation and sustainability goals for the diverse and endangered species in their care. The software is available in English, French, Russian and Japanese.

“This is truly an honor. To serve alongside such well-respected and talented leaders in the zoo and aquarium world means a lot to me. I am looking forward to making a further impact on the future of endangered species globally in this trusted role,” said Frost.

Frost earned his master of public administration from the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business in 2009. He promotes and supports the college’s Public Administration Institute as a member of the PAI Advisory Board.
