Rucks Fellows Class 2017-2018 Announced

BATON ROUGE – The Class of 2017-2018 Rucks Fellows have been announced by the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Rucks Department of Management. They are Heather Adams of Germantown, Tenn.; Andrew Broussard of Abbeville, La.; Diana Chern of Harvey, La.; Mallory Guillot of Covington, La.; Ashlee Huval of Covington, La.; Chris-Annie Joseph of Baton Rouge; Amanda Laliberte of Belle Chasse, La.; Lucy Simon of New Orleans; Sarah Stalnaker of Shreveport, La.; and Madison Stein of LaPlace, La.
To qualify, a senior management major must have a grade-point average in the top 10 of all graduating seniors in the management curriculum.
Adams will graduate in December with a bachelor’s in management. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Kappa Phi. Adams returned to college after more than five years in the full-time workforce. Adams’ unique path gave her the motivation to excel. She has worked for Blooming Brands Inc. for the last nine years. After graduation, she hopes to gain experience as a restaurant manager before eventually acquiring her own restaurant.
Broussard is a management major with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He is a
Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute Fellow, a founding member of GIVE at LSU and
a member of the Ogden Honors College. Broussard interned at Bite and Booze, a Baton
Rouge culinary media company founded by celebrity chef, Jay Ducote. Broussard helped
manage Ducote’s grocery products sold under the Hug JayD label. He plans to pursue
an MBA after graduation.
Chern is a management major with a concentration in human resources. She is a member
of the Society of Human Resource Management, Alpha Kappa Psi and the Business College
Council Partners. She is the manager for LSU's collegiate League of Legends team (Division
1). As an intern for Palisades Holdings Inc. in Baker, La., she audits job descriptions,
screens potential candidates, and conducts phone interviews. After graduating, Chern
plans to join Amazon's human resources team.
Guillot will graduate this December with a bachelor’s in management and minor in
French. She serves on the Business College Council and is a member of Alpha Phi International
Fraternity and Rho Lambda Honors Society. During her time at LSU, Guillot studied
in Paris and completed an internship at Rainbow Luxury Imports in Covington, La. Following
graduation, she plans to attend law school at LSU and ultimately wants to use her
degrees and talents to help others.
Huval is a management major with a concentration in human resources. She is a member
of Delta Zeta and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Huval gained experience with
payroll and benefits during an internship with Compli LLC in Covington, La. She looks
forward to starting a career in human resources upon graduation.
Joseph is a management major with a concentration in human resources. She is the
financial secretary for the National Association of Black Accountants, the vice president
of merit for the Society of Human Resource Management and the president of the Bridge
Campus Ministry. Joseph currently works in the human resources office of the Department
of Children and Family Services.
Laliberte is a pursuing a degree in management with a concentration in general management.
She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Laliberte plans to begin law school in the fall of 2018. Following that, she plans
to help run Bayou Title Inc., her parent’s business.
Simon is a double major in business management and psychology. She is also earning a dual minor in leadership development and French. A member of the Ogden Honors College, Simon is a Stamps Leadership Scholar and a Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute Fellow. Simon participated in both the LSU in Paris and Ourso in Spain programs. Simon performed business analytics during her internship at ExxonMobil in Houston.
Stalnaker is a management major with a concentration in human resources. In her role
as president of the Society of Human Resource Management, Stalnaker leads other officers
ensuring the group has defined organizational goals and a plan for meeting them. She
is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and has volunteered as
a student notetaker for LSU Disability Services. Following graduation, she plans to
pursue an MBA and a career in human resources.
Stein is a human resource management major. She is vice president of operations for the Society of Human Resource Management. She is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Nu Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and cooking. She plans to earn an MBA after graduation.

Thanks to a generous gift from William W. and Catherine M. Rucks, 10 students are recognized each year as Rucks Fellows. Selected by the faculty, the Rucks Fellows represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors. To enrich their development as future business leaders, these students receive opportunities not available to others, including the chance to interact with faculty and business leaders at special events, preferential enrollment in management courses, recognition during graduation and the right to identify themselves as Rucks Fellows.
