Cornell Economist to Deliver Lecture at LSU

BATON ROUGE – The E. J. Ourso College of Business Department of Economics will host Cornell University Economist Robert H. Frank on Friday, Oct. 28 for a public lecture at 2:30 p.m. in the Business Education Complex Auditorium.
The free lecture is titled, “Success and Luck.”
Frank is the H. J. Louis Professor of Management and a professor of economics in the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He has made pioneering contributions in the areas of income equality, the role of status in conspicuous consumption, and emotions in decision making. For more than a decade, Frank’s “Economic View” column appeared monthly in the New York Times. He is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio’s show Planet Money and has authored several books including “The Winner Take All Society,” “Luxury Fever,” and most recently, “Success and Luck.”
Frank received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Georgia Tech and his Master of Arts in Statistics and PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
