Flores MBA Program Makes Leap in USNWR Rankings

March 16, 2016

BATON ROUGE – The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Flores MBA Program improved on its 2016 “Best Business School” ranking by U.S. News & World Report, moving up 11 spots among public institutions in the 2017 rankings to No. 33.

It is the program’s best ranking on the list since 2014, when it reached No. 31.

“We’re thrilled about our most recent U.S. News and World Report ranking,” said Flores MBA Program Director Dana Hart. “It’s a proud moment for us and it clearly illustrates that we are once again ranked among some remarkable MBA programs across the country.

“We’re doing great things here and our competitive position is indeed a testament to our outstanding faculty and staff, as well as the important accomplishments of our distinguished students and alumni.”

Diving deeper into the 2015-2016 data behind the ranking offers further insight into the program. The average full-time undergraduate GPA was 3.35, the average starting salary and bonus for a graduate was $67,100, 90.5 percent of graduates were employed at graduation, and 97.6 percent were employed within three months after graduation.

In addition the part-time Flores MBA Program was ranked T-70 among public colleges and institutions.

To calculate its rankings, USNWR surveyed all 470 master's programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International in fall 2015 and early 2016. A total of 379 responded. Of those, 129 provided enough data to calculate the full-time MBA rankings, based on a weighted average of peer assessment score, recruiter assessment score, placement success, mean starting salary and bonus, employment rates for full-time master's program in business graduates, student selectivity, mean GMAT and GRE scores, mean undergraduate GPA and acceptance rate.
