MassMutual Louisiana Boosts LSU PSI With Gift

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Professional Sales Institute, housed within the E. J. Ourso College of Business Department of Marketing, recently received a $75,000 gift from MassMutual Louisiana.
It is the first major donation to LSU from the company to support an academic program.
“The gift will be primarily used for program support and growth,” said Greg Accardo,
director of the Professional Sales Institute. “The PSI operates as a public/private
or corporate partnership for the education, training and development of professional
sales leaders and to the discovery and dissemination of sales knowledge.
“Our corporate partners use these opportunities to make an investment into their future
sales force needs by investing in the PSI.”
MassMutual Louisiana is recognized as a corporate partner within the E. J. Ourso College
of Business and is a charter member of the PSI. It provides financial solutions to
more than 9,900 clients across Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast through products
and services such as annuities, investments, life insurance, long-term care, etc.
About the Professional Sales Institute
The Professional Sales Institute (PSI) is a partnership between LSU and industry,
dedicated to the discovery and dissemination of sales knowledge and to the development
of professional sales leaders. From the curriculum perspective, it offers a professional
sales concentration within the marketing BS degree, which consists of three classes
– professional sales, sales management, and a sales practicum. One component of the
PSI assists companies looking for interns and full-time professional sales employees.
The LSU Professional Sales Institute was named one of the 2015 top professional sales
programs by the Sales Education Foundation. The list of Top Universities for Professional Sales Education recognizes programs
that develop future sales professionals and advance the sales profession.
