Economics Professor’s Paper Accepted to European Economic Review

BATON ROUGE – LSU Economics Professor Bulent Unel and University of Florida Professor Elias Dinopoulos’ paper, “Entrepreneurs, Jobs, and Trade,” was recently accepted into the European Economic Review.

The paper proposes a theory of endogenous firm productivity, unemployment, and top income inequality, and the effects that global trade would have in regards to this theory. The theory also explains the characteristics of high-talented individuals versus low-talented individuals and their respective work environments and strategies.

The Department of Economics at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business offers courses that provide its undergraduate and graduate students an intellectual challenge and strong analytic training and the tools to understand the economic and social problems faced both domestically and internationally. The faculty’s dedication to quality teaching and research is reflected by numerous awards received and peer-reviewed scholarly articles published in high-quality economic journals.
