Beland's Research on Mobile Phones' Impact Appears in Numerous Publications

BATON ROUGE - LSU Assistant Professor of Economics Louis-Phillipe Beland's research on how the presence of mobile phones in schools impacts student achievement has made the rounds in recent weeks, appearing in publications around the world.
His work was discussed in a Time Magazine article titled, "Test Scores Rise After Cell Phones Banned From Schools." He also co-authored an article in the publication with Richard Murphy titled, "The Science of Why Schools Should Ban Cell Phone Use."
He's also been featured in The Guardian, CNN, BBC, Daily Mail, Huffington Post US, Huffington
Post UK, Die Welt and The Telegraph UK.
Beland's paper, co-authored by Richard Murphy, is "Ill Communication: Technology, Distraction and Student Performance."
