LSU Sales Team Places Third at Bayou Sales Challenge

BATON ROUGE -- The LSU Sales Team finished third at the Bayou Sales Challenge, held March 5-6 at Nicholls State University. Other competing schools included Florida State University, Nicholls State University, William Paterson University and Xavier University.
The Bayou Sales Challenge is formatted as a mock sales meeting in which students attempt to sell ADP payroll products to potential buyers. The event begins with a panel discussion about professional sales careers led by leaders in the field and moves to team and individual competitions held in the college’s Sales and Interactive Training Laboratory.
Philip Greg Accardo, director of the Professional Sales Institute, says the LSU Sales Team strives to compete in at least two collegiate sales competitions each semester.
“The Bayou Sales Challenge has been a very rewarding and competitive event where our team is able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills competing among some of the best sales talent on the college level,” Accardo said. “Several large companies underwrite and judge the event while also using the opportunity to interview the competitors for possible career offers. We find that student involvement with the LSU Sales Team results in nearly a 95 percent chance of job placement by graduation.”
