BATON ROUGE – Despite a drop in the rankings, the LSU Flores MBA Program maintained its spot among the top 50 public institutions in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Business Schools” ranking for 2016. The program is ranked No. 44 among public institutions and 77 (tie) overall.

“Given the focus on peer review and perception in the U.S. News ranking profile, the Flores MBA Program is continually recognized by other business schools for our quality students, competitive faculty and a world-class facility, among many other aspects,” said Dana Hart, interim director of the Flores MBA Program.

“As we look to the future, we seek to improve all that we do, which includes many initiatives on the horizon. For example, we’re refining our leadership and career development programming, enhancing international travel opportunities and launching a new energy specialization. We want to provide our students with amazing opportunities, and our ranking demonstrates our ability to attract talent and deliver an exceptional MBA experience.”

Speaking of new initiatives, earlier this year, the relatively new Flores MBA Online program – two years old this March – was ranked for the first time by USNWR and debuted at 57 among public institutions and 72 overall.

To calculate its rankings, USNWR surveyed all 464 master's programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International in fall 2014 and early 2015. A total of 385 responded. Of those, 126 provided enough of the data needed to calculate the full-time MBA rankings, based on a weighted average of peer assessment score, recruiter assessment score, placement success, mean starting salary and bonus, employment rates for full-time master's program in business graduates, student selectivity, mean GMAT and GRE scores, mean undergraduate GPA and acceptance rate.

The mission of the LSU Flores MBA Program is to remain competitive in the national and regional markets, while fostering learning, leadership and networking in a global business environment. Full-time, professional, executive and online tracks are offered and provide schedule flexibility for those wishing to pursue their MBA from a nationally recognized program.
