BATON ROUGE – LSU’s Beta Chi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity has received the Chapter of the Year award for the second year in a row. It is one out of 15 chapters nationwide to receive this honor and one of the only chapters in its region to do so.

In order to receive a Chapter of the Year award, a chapter must obtain a perfect score or 100,000 points. A chapter is given a certain amount of points based on criteria, including the chapter’s events and their success, recruiting and member retention, and accurate accounting and reporting.

“No one person or group can take credit for this achievement because it has truly taken all the brothers of the Beta Chi chapter, the alumni and the advisors, from the beginning to now, to build a chapter that is great both in foundation and in continuing efforts,” said Joe Solito, president of the LSU chapter.

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that provides its members with professional development, service and social opportunities. Membership is open to any student interested in business – all majors are accepted. The Beta Chi chapter holds rush at the beginning of every semester.
