BCBSLA Exec Peggy Scott to Speak at Spring Diploma Ceremony

BATON ROUGE – Peggy Scott – executive vice president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer and treasurer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana – will be the keynote speaker for the E. J. Ourso College of Business Spring Diploma Ceremony on Friday, May 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Scott leads operations, finance and treasury for BCBSLA, Louisiana’s largest health insurer with revenues of $3 billion and 2,400 employees. In addition, she is president and a board member of the Blue Cross Foundation, serving four years as board chair.
Scott earned a bachelor’s of accounting from the LSU College of Business, graduating magna cum laude, and an executive MBA from Tulane University. She is also on a number of College of Business councils and committees.
“Peggy Scott is not only a successful business executive, she is a true friend and supporter of the college and an enviable role model for our students,” said Richard White Jr., dean of the College of Business. “We are pleased to have her speak at graduation.”
