Department of Marketing and SDEIS Instructors Recognized by the Society of Marketing Advances
Jennifer Henderson, Amanda Ledet and Emory Serviss won Best Paper in the Business-to-Business track, as well as the Steven J. Shaw & Joe Hair Overall Conference Best Paper award, at the 2020 Society of Marketing Advances (SMA) annual conference for their research paper “Communication Alignment in Sales: The Role of Emotional Intelligence.”
Jared Llorens Named E. J. Ourso College of Business Permanent Dean
BATON ROUGE – LSU has named Jared Llorens as the dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business. Llorens was appointed as interim dean in July 2020 after the initial search for the next dean was paused earlier this year due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
LSU Marketing Professor Nawar Chaker Awarded Best Reviewer by The Journal of Selling and Sales Management
BATON ROUGE- LSU Marketing Assistant Professor Nawar Chaker recently earned the 2020 Best Reviewer Award from the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. In addition, author awards were presented for theory and practice.
LSU Marketing Professor Co-authored Article on How Businesses Need to Engage with Customers in Times of Turbulence
BATON ROUGE- LSU Marketing Professor Judith Anne Garretson Folse recently co-authored an article with Texas A&M Mays Business School Dean Eli Jones, Baylor University Assistant Professor of Marketing Stephanie Mangus, and Texas A&M Professor of Marketing Shrihari Sridhar that was accepted for publication by Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
Patil Chosen as 2019-2020 Recipient of the Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award
BATON ROUGE – Ripinka Patil, a second-year LSU marketing PhD student is the 2020 recipient of the Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award. She graduated from NIFT in Mumbai, India in 2013 with a Bachelor of Design and then earned her M.S. in Business-Marketing from the University of Cincinnati in 2016.

Greg Accardo, the director, instructor and professional sales advisor at LSU’s Professional Sales Institute and the Department of Marketing, was recently selected as chair of the Industry Innovation & Insights subcommittee, under the Thought Leadership Committee, for the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA). LSU 100 and LSU ROARING 10 Nominations Now Open
The LSU 100 is a highly competitive program that identifies, recognizes and celebrates the 100 fastest growing LSU graduate-owned or LSU graduate-led businesses in the world and the LSU ROARING 10 list recognizes and celebrates the ten highest revenue generating LSU graduate-owned or LSU graduate-led businesses. Companies must apply each year in order to be considered for either list.

Professional Sales Institute Competes in Wisconsin Sales Competition
LSU professional sales students recently competed in the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up, held by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where they gained valuable experience and met with corporate recruiters.
Collegiate World Cup of Sales insight for LSU PSI Team
The LSU Professional Sales Institute (PSI) Sales Team will be competing for the International Collegiate Sales Competition, or ICSC, “Collegiate World Cup of Sales” November 6-9 in Orlando, Florida. This tournament-style competition puts participating universities in the position to earn points in each event, and the university accumulating the most overall points will be awarded the Collegiate World Cup of Sales.
Professional Sales Institute holds Regional Sales Competition
The Professional Sales Institute (PSI), in the Department of Marketing, hosted a one-day regional sales competition. Competing universities include Southeastern Louisiana University, University of Louisiana Lafayette, Nicholls State University, and Louisiana State University. Three students from each university competed in the first round, and the top three students moved to the final round.
Narayanan appointed Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Outreach
BATON ROUGE - Rajesh P. Narayanan has been selected as the new associate dean for academic affairs and outreach in the Office of the Dean at the E. J. Ourso College of Business. Timothy Chandler, who previously held the position, has been named associate dean for undergraduate programs and assessment. Narayanan is also the chair of the E. J. Ourso College of Business’s Department of Finance and he will continue that role for the next year.
Richard White Jr. to Retire as LSU Business Dean
BATON ROUGE – Richard D. White Jr. will step down as dean of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business at the end of this academic year. White has served in this role since 2012. His retirement will be effective in June 2020.

Marketing Department Announces Analytics Concentration
Beginning in fall 2019, the Department of Marketing at the E. J. Ourso College of Business will offer a Marketing Analytics Concentration. The concentration involves completing two marketing analytics courses as well as a practicum or internship.

MBA Student, LSU Long Snapper Again Named Sec Football Leadership Chair
BATON ROUGE - For the second-straight year, MBA student and LSU long snapper Blake Ferguson will serve as the chair of the Southeastern Conference Football Leadership Council, the league office announced Thursday.
Ten Business Students Named to SEC 2018-19 Winter Honor Roll
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Out of 37 LSU student-athletes named to the 2018-19 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll, 10 of them are E. J. Ourso College of Business students. The 2018-19 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades posted from the 2018 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
Six Straight Years of Record-Breaking Graduating Classes for LSU
BATON ROUGE – SEC Professor of the Year Gabriela González delivered the keynote address, and LSU graduated its largest and most diverse class ever at the university’s 298th commencement exercises on Friday, May 10. At the spring commencement ceremony, a record 4,442 degrees were awarded. The overall class of 2018-19 – students receiving degrees in previous summer and fall commencements combined with the current spring commencement – saw 7,047 degrees awarded, the highest in any academic year ever.
Jeseo wins Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award
Vincent Jeseo, a second-year doctoral student at the LSU department of marketing, won the 2019 Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award. He graduated from the University of Tampa in 2011 with a B.S. in Sport Management and then earned his M.S. in Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies from the University of South Florida in 2013. Jeseo helps to mentor students in LSU's Professional Sales Institute as they prepare for sales competitions.

Professor Emeritus William Black receives award
BATON Rouge - Professor Emeritus William C. Black has been awarded the 2019 Doctoral Educator’s Award from the Southeast Marketing Symposium member Universities, which include Florida State University, Louisiana State University, The University of Memphis, Mississippi State University, The University of Alabama, The University of Arkansas, The University of Georgia, The University of Kentucky, The University of Mississippi, and the University of Tennessee. LSU Flores MBA Program Offers One-Year MBA to Undergraduate Business Majors
BATON ROUGE - The LSU Flores MBA Program has launched a one-year MBA track that’s geared toward students who hold an undergraduate business degree from an accredited institution. Beginning in June, this new one-year MBA format will allow students to complete the MBA degree in just 11 months.
