On January 7, 2019, the second annual Public-Private Partnership Symposium will be held at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business in Baton Rouge. The event is co-hosted by ULI Louisiana and the Real Estate Research Institute at LSU.
This symposium attracts professionals from all corners of the industry and provides a valuable opportunity to facilitate new partnerships with industry peers and public sector partners.
Last year’s attendees learned the nuts and bolts of how deals work and how to manage risks associated with legal and financial frameworks. This year attendees will learn how to manage their ownership strategies and capital stacks to create the appropriate structure and returns for their stakeholders.
Attendees will learn from seasoned professionals with experience in these fields and will participate in interactive panels discussion specifically tailored to the needs of public agencies evaluating P3s.The conference is designed for all levels in the market including those beginning to explore P3s and seeking to better understand where alternative and accelerated project delivery methods can be applicable.
2019 Program Overview
Louisiana-based industry thought-leaders and practitioners will discuss their firsthand observations of Louisiana P3 projects and explore proven approaches for optimizing private sector innovation and achieving on time-on budget delivery to develop and construct economic development assets.
The agenda covers topics such as when P3s do and do not make sense and what some of the first steps to make are when considering the P3 route. Specific topics include Economic Development Districts and Opportunity Zones plus stacking sources from New Market Tax Credits and Historic Tax Credits.
The presentation includes discussions of case studies where attendees can see how actual P3s were structured in Louisiana from the professionals who put them together.
Who should attend
The conference is a must-attend event for those who want to stay current on project delivery trends, meet with leaders behind projects in Louisiana, and network with development experts who have helped shape policy and navigated partnerships from concept to completion.
Connecting with industry peers is one of the most important benefits of attending this event. There will be a networking session following the Symposium hosted by Provident Resources where attendees can meet each other as well as the Symposium speakers.
