Certified Public Manager Program

The Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program is a nationally-accredited, comprehensive statewide public management development program specifically designed for managers in federal, state, and local governments and other organizations with a public purpose.

Our CPM program is a seven-session series where participants can earn the nationally-accredited public manager certification in 12 months. The following components make up the required 300 hours of education and activity needed to obtain the CPM designation:

  • Seven classroom learning sessions- each session consists of three days of face-to-face and hybrid online learning
  • Homework, readings, and competency assignments (12 hours per professional competency)
  • Capstone project (48 hours of individual work)

Registration Fee: $1075 per session

Session Two (March 13-15, 2023): Strategic Planning & Decision Making

Session Three (May 8-10), 2023: Strategic Human Resource Management

Session Four (July 17-19, 2023): Organizational Communication & Effective Presentations

Session Five (Sept. 18-20, 2023): Public Finance & Budgeting

Session Six (Nov. 13-15, 2023): Crisis Leadership & Cybersecurity- 

Session Seven (Jan. 22-24, 2024): Systemic Integration & Champions of Public Service

The ideal candidates for the Certified Public Manager Program include:  

  • Individuals working in the public and non-profit sectors who are interested in moving into management. 
  • Employees who are interested in sharpening their personal and professional leadership styles.
  • It is preferred, but not required, for participants to have an undergraduate college degree.

Participants may cancel their registration and receive a refund of their tuition if notification is submitted 15 business days before the event date. However, all cancellations will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee. In addition, if any program assessments, tests, or reports are completed before the cancellation date, fees for these tools will be charged to the participant. 
  
No refunds will be issued if cancellation is received 14 business days or less prior to the event. LSU reserves the right to cancel for any reason without penalty to the participant.

Participants or organizations can transfer a paid registration one time into a future program scheduled within 18 months of the transfer date. Requests for additional transfers are not permitted. The above cancellation policy does not apply to transfer registrations. If you must cancel a transferred registration, you will forfeit all registration, tuition, and fees. 
  
LSU Executive Education reserves the right to cancel a program for any reason. If such a cancellation occurs, there will not be a penalty to the participant.
