LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens offer a variety of spaces surrounded by lush garden settings for your meeting, education program, wedding or other special event.  For company parties or picnics, our facilities offer a relaxing, natural setting, perfect for an elegant dinner, cocktail party or a Louisiana style crawfish boil.  The beautiful gardens that surround these facilities accommodate large tents and extra seating. Convenient parking is available for all rental spaces.  Large groups are easily accommodated by renting multiple venues. Discounts may apply.

Meeting Rooms

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden offers 2 different locations for meetings. The largest space is the Conference Center. Also available is the conference room in the Orangerie. Conference Center

Ione E. Burden Visitor Information and Conference Center was built in memory of Miss Ione and her love for education. Facility use charges include the use of lobby and/or foyer space, the exposed beam and stained glass conference room, parking lot, catering kitchen and outdoor cooking space/areas.  The facility accommodates up to 120 persons. 

Along with large tables and leather chairs, the Conference Center offers WiFi, an LCD projector and a sound system. Rental of the Conference Center also includes a cater-friendly kitchen.

Orangerie Meeting Room


The Steele Burden Memorial Orangerie was designed by A. Hays Town.  The Orangerie, Mr. Town's last design,  was a tribute to his long-time friend Steele in recognition of his landscape contributions to LSU and the surrounding region.  

Facility use charges include the use of the conference room.  Executive table and seating is provided for 10 people.  The room provides a view of the Rose Garden and includes nearby parking. 

 

 

Orangerie

The Steele Burden Memorial Orangerie was designed by A. Hays Town.   

The Orangerie, his last design, and was a tribute to his long-time friend Steele in recognition of his landscape contributions to LSU and the surrounding region. An orangerie is a unique structure, part conservatory and part interpretive in construction. They were originally designed to house or protect citrus trees during cold weather, hence the name.

Rental of this facility includes the use of the conference/catering room (15-person capacity, table and chairs for 10 people provided), atrium overlooking the Rose Garden (100-person capacity), parking lot and lawns and gardens immediately in front of and behind the building.

Pavillion

The Pavilion is a large structure with exposed beams and a handsome fireplace that overlooks the Burden Woods. This open-air venue, located near the Burden Woods will allow couples to exchange vows in the outside, with plenty of natural light and lush greenery. It has a 140-person capacity and a fireplace for couples and their guests to warm up after the reception. Facility use charges include the use of the covered pavilion (approximately 40' x 60') and the lawns surrounding the building and the Memory Garden.

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden offer several different elegant and fanciful gardens for your wedding, party, dinner or other special event. Choices include the elegance of the Rose Garden, the serenity of the Memory Garden, the natural green of the Arboretum and the whimsical setting of the Children's Garden.
