Gardens are living spaces with more than just plant life growing. Discover the sounds and sights of insects that help us tend to our garden. Make a mason bee house to bring home.
This month's program is a part of the Children's Garden Series hosted by the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners. Enjoy hands-on activities with your children on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11am at the Ione Burden Conference Center. Activities are age appropriate for 6 to 12 year olds.
Each event will require a small fee of $15 per child, and an adult must accompany each child. Children will receive snacks and a neat garden take-home craft!

Celebrate Arbor Day and learn more about trees and their uses at this family-friendly event. Activities include: family tree planting, a scavenger hunt in the Burden Woods, Story Time, children's tree climbing, a visit with Smokey Bear, hayrides and more.

The workshop will teach participants to paint an icon of St. Anna.
Classes are held in the Steele Burden Memorial Orangerie from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. No art experience is required. All materials are included in the course fee.

The annual Camellia Show and Sale features camellia flowers from around the state along with the current award winners. Various camellia varieties grown by the Camellia Society will be available to purchase The event is held at the Rural Life Museum.

The EBR Master Gardener annual spring plant sale raises money to support both the
education and benevolent activities of Master Gardeners and the LSU AgCenter Botanic
Gardens at Burden. The sale includes thousands of plants in hundreds of varieties
of landscape ornamentals. Activities that are supported by the funds raised during
this plant sale are plant health clinics, school gardens, educational classes for
the community and various other children's programs.

Stroll through the gardens and savor the best local flavors from Baton Rouge chefs.
Mix the delicious cuisine with signature cocktails from the city's most creative mixologists.
Shake it up with a little music and dancing under the stars. And you have an extraordinary evening infused with laughter, good friends and good times.
All the proceeds from this event go towards education programs at the Botanic Gardens and the Louisiana Culinary Institute Foundation.
Parents with children ages 3 through 8 are invited to join in the fun from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Registration is not required. The event is free of charge.

Garden Fest focuses on locally grown and produced foods and beverages.
Garden Fest is a family friendly festival in the middle of Baton Rouge with morning omelets provided by the Louisiana Egg Commission, fresh bloody mary's samples by Mason's Grill, hayrides, educational programs, "Touch the Tractor," and water slides! There will be vegetable tastings, plant advice, and answers to your burning plant questions.
Taco de Paco, Ninja Snowballs, and City Gelato vendors will be present for lunch, snacks, and a refreshing dessert!
Tickets are $5 for ages 4 and up and free for ages 3 and below. Please come out, bring your swimsuits, and prepare for a fun Saturday in Baton Rouge. Tickets will be available at the event as well!
The show features displays of various gulf coast orchid societies and the vendors who will be selling orchid plants and supplies. Orchid Society members will be on hand to offer expert advice on orchid culture. Other Show features include potting demonstrations. The show is open to the public with free admission.
