Event Management

LSU Auxiliary Services Event Management Office is responsible for the reservation of event spaces in and around the LSU Student Union.  We are excited that you are considering the LSU Student Union for your upcoming event! Our goal is to make your event successful with as little stress as possible!

 Please learn more about options throughout the building and reference our reservation guidelines below. The Event Management staff is available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (excluding University closures or holidays).

Space Options

Barataria – 319

Located on the third floor, this room has fixed seating for 12 with four additional seats available along the wall. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Caddo – 305

Located on the third floor, this room has fixed seating for 14 with six additional seats available along the wall. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines. This room does have a glass wall making activities visible.

Capital Chamber – 329

Located on the third floor, this room has fixed seating for 64 with 30 additional seats available in the back gallery of the room. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, audio, and amplified podium. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Catahoula – 302D

Located on the third floor, this room is tucked away and has fixed seating for 14. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Council – 312

Located on the third floor, this room has fixed seating for 16 with 14 additional seats along the wall. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Orleans – 302A

Located on the third floor, this room is tucked away and has fixed seating for 12. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Ouachita – 302B

Located on the third floor, this room is tucked away and has fixed seating for 12. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Tchoupitoulas – 452

Located on the fourth floor, this room has fixed seating for 12 with additional seating for 12 along the wall. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines.

Vermilion – 308

Located on the third floor, this room has fixed seating for 8. This room features dedicated audio visual equipment that includes a PC, presentation monitor, and audio. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines. This room does have a glass wall making activities visible.

Royal Cotillion – 250

 Located on the second floor, the Royal Cotillion Ballroom can accommodate 800 lecture seating and 500 dining seating. This space features a stage that can accommodate a variety of presentations, screen with lighting equipment, multiple entrances to accommodate great event flow, and a wall of windows overlooking Memorial Oak Grove.

 

Atchafalaya – 339

Located on the third floor, this space can accommodate 200 lecture seating, 75 classroom seating, and 140 dining seating.  This space features a dedicated presentation screen and projector. Access to this equipment must be requested by our deadlines. Additional audio visual equipment requests, such as microphones or laptops, would be appropriate in this space. The hardwood floors, glass walls, and beautiful view allow for an elegant atmosphere for receptions, presentations, and more!

Castilian Room – 304

A multi-purpose room which seats a maximum of 50 people in a theater style set-up. Carpeted floor with one wall of glass. Equipped with a phone line and wired network connection.Located on the third floor, this space can accommodate 50 lecture seating. This space can be set to include a presentation screen, projector, and podium for presentations. This room does feature carpeted floors and a glass wall making activities visible.

Feliciana – 208

Carpeted meeting room which can accommodate up to 30 people seated theater style or 15 people in a conference set-up. Opens to the main floor lobby. Equipped with a phone line. Wireless Internet connection is available.

International – 303

Carpeted meeting room which accommodates up to 70 people theater style, 50 in a dining set-up, or 30 conference style. Ideal for meetings or dining. Equipped with a phone line, wired network connection, and a built in screen.

Magnolia Room – 301

Buffet dining from 11:00am until 1:30pm. During evenings and weekends the room may be used for special dining events.

Red River – 323

A carpeted meeting room which accommodates up to 50 people theater style, 35 in a dining set-up, or 20 conference style. Ideal for small meetings or elegant dinners.

Vieux Carre – 325

A multi-purpose room which can seat a maximum of 80 people theater style, 50 conference style or 70 in a dining set-up. Wood floors and pictures depicting scenes of the New Orleans French Quarter.

A fixed seating facility which can seat 1,263. Requires ushers and stage personnel. Accommodates Off-Broadway plays, lecture series, dance recitals, musical concerts, and various types of events.

 

LSU Auxiliary Services can supply audio visual and physical equipment for meetings and events in the LSU Student Union. These have to be requested when reserving your space by the appropriate deadline. Please review the list below for details and access prices (when applicable).

Audio Visual Access

All of our conference rooms feature PCs, large presentation monitors, and audio. The Atchafalaya Room also has dedicated audio visual to include a large drop down presentation screen and projector. Access to the equipment must be requested by the deadlines.

Prices: $50 access fee, when applicable.

  1. Which catering vendors are allowed in the LSU Student Union?We allow any approved LSU catering vendor to serve food or beverages in the LSU Student Union. Please visit this link for the LSU approved vendor list.
  2. Do you have a map of the LSU Student Union? Absolutely! Click here for a map of the LSU Sudent Union.
  3. What is the approval process for a Registered Student Organization? Please complete the Event Management – Reserve a Space Request Form. If the space is available, you will receive a tentative confirmation. Your confirmation remains tentative until we receive TigerLink approval. We do require TigerLink approval by 9:00a.m. two business days before your event. If we do not receive that approval notification, your event will be cancelled.   4.  Where do I get tables, chairs, or other equipment for the LSU Parade Ground? Please contact LSU Facility Services at workcon@lsu.edu or 225-578-3186.
  5. How do I get power set up for events on the LSU Parade Ground? Please contact LSU Facility Services at workcon@lsu.edu or 225-578-3186.
  6.  How do I reserve parking for my event in the LSU Student Union? Please complete the Reserved Space Request Form with LSU Parking. 
  7. How do I set up guest wi-fi for my non-LSU event guests? LSU Faculty and Staff can request a NetGuest Account for campus visitor. Please complete the form with LSU ITS. 
  8.  Can I display flyers or signage in the LSU Student Union? The only location that flyers can be placed in the LSU Student Union is the community board on the first floor. We do accept requests for the digital screens in the LSU Student via the digital tv request form. Sign Stands for flyers or directional signage on the day of your event, can be requested through Event Management by the final details deadline of 9:00a.m. two business days before your event.
  9.  What are the definitions of the different set up options?
    • Lecture Seating: Rows of Chairs only (link to a PDF of a sample diagram)
    • Classroom Seating: Rows of Chairs and Tables (link to a PDF of a sample diagram)
    • Dining Seating: Round tables with Chairs (link to a PDF of a sample diagram)
  10. How many people can comfortable sit around tables?
    • 8ft Rectangle: sits 8-10 comfortably
    • 6ft Rectangle: sits 6-8 comfortably
    • Round Table: sits up to 8 comfortably
