Agriculture Mentoring Program 

LSU College of Agriculture is excited to launch the Agriculture Mentoring Program. The purpose of this program is to provide current students with networking opportunities to help develop professional career goals.

Student Expectations

  • Interact monthly with mentor
  • Establish SMART goals for the year
  • Complete a job shadowing experience

All students are encouraged to apply:



Mentor Responsibilities 

  • Complete a mentor profile online
  • Maintain regular contact with your student via phone , email and/or meetings throughout the program
  • Assist your student in developing goal and professional plans
  • Provide opportunities for growth through job shadowing experiences, invitations to industry exposor professional meetings
  • Complete a program evaluation at the conclusion of your experience
  • Complete mentor sign up 
  • Complete your mentor profile by August 1 at: 
  • Mentors will be contacted with their mentee's profile in September

Program Outline

  • Mentors are recruited throughout the year but the program cycle will officially begin in September and end in March
  • Several events will be hosted on campus throughout the year and mentors are encouraged to attend, but it is not mandatory
  • A complete list of events will be provided before the fall semester starts so mentors can plan accordingly
  • Students will be officially introduced to their mentors through a meeting prep session and will also be provided with your profile
  • A meet and greet social will be hosted on campus in September for mentors and mentees
