Career Prep Week
Career Prep Week provides students with an opportunity to build on their professional development skills and network with potential employers. Freshmen through seniors are encouraged to participate in these events.
Students, alumni, employers, and faculty interested in participating in any of the events throughout the week should register at the link below by Friday, October 9, 2020.
Resume & Cover Letter Review
Perfect your resume and cover letter before attending the Ag Career Fair and other Career Prep Week networking events.
Option 1: Resume Review On-Demand
Anytime throughout the Fall Semester (August - November), submit your resume and/or
cover letter through our online form. A member of the College of Agriculture career
services team will review, and provide edits and suggestions via email.
Expected turnaround time is 1 to 2 business days, so submit early as we expect a high volume of resumes during Career Prep Week!
Option 2: One-on-one Resume & Cover Letter Review Appointments
Anytime throughout the Fall Semester (August - November) schedule a one-on-one virtual appointment with our career services staff. These appointments can cover resume and cover letter review, discussion of internships and job opportunities, career exploration, interview prep, and more.
Schedule an appointment through the LSU Navigate app. From the appointment menu, select Academic Advising > College of Agriculture > Internship / Career.
Option 3: 15-minute Drop-in Appointments

Ag Careers in California Virtual Roundtable
6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Central Time), hosted via Zoom
A degree from the LSU College of Agriculture can take you anywhere, but for this event we are highlighting California. Hear from our panel of alumni as they share their experience living and working in California. Explore food, agriculture, environmental, and natural resource related careers in The Golden State, while gaining valuable career advice and alumni connections.

Wednesday Night Networking
5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (Central Time), hosted via Zoom
Hosted the night before the Virtual Ag Career Fair, Wednesday Night Networking is a virtual speed networking social for students to connect with employers and industry representatives. This is a great opportunity to preview companies that will be participating in the Ag Career Fair, as well as a way to polish your elevator pitch, practice networking, and gain career advice from industry representatives.

Career Fair Student Information
Business casual attire is encouraged but not required.
Students are encouraged to prepare a resume PDF file in advance and have it available for upload in the event that an employer requests a résumé for review. View tips on creating a strong resume. Students are also encouraged to update their profiles in Handshake and upload a résumé for approval in advance so they are prepared to apply for any jobs they learn about during the event.
