Governor's School for Agricultural Sciences Alumni
Jaci is a student at Ponchatoula High School. She is a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and is very involved in agricultural activities. She is a leader in FFA and participates in outdoor agriculture trips to conduct research and rehabilitation.
Ryan is a student at Iowa High School and is a resident of Iowa, Louisiana. He has been active in 4-H since a young age, and raises and shows beef cattle. He is also active in FFA, and is the president of his high school chapter.
Dean is a resident of Walker, Louisiana, and attends Walker High School. Dean is very interested in science, and he hopes to enter a career in the medical field. Dean is the BETA club president and is on the varsity soccer team at Walker High School.
Melodie is a student at Mount Olive Christian School in Minden, Louisiana. She has received many science awards throughout her high school career, and is a leader in Mount Olive’s 4-H club. She also participates in student government, varsity cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
A resident of Covington, Louisiana, Colt attends Covington High School. Colt is very active in FFA, and has served in various FFA officer positions as well as performing well in many FFA competitions. Colt also thoroughly enjoys participating in theatre and referees for paintball and airsoft games.
Bonnie is a resident of Houma, Louisiana, where she attends Terrebonne High School. Bonnie is interested in environmental activism. She has conducted two science experiments related to the environment and also attended the Field Marine Science camp at LUMCON. She participates in 4-H and her church’s youth activities.
Danielle is a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Danielle attends Springfield High School where she is involved in many different activities including student government, FFA, and tutoring. Danielle also enjoys working with plants; she works with strawberries and often participates in coastal restoration projects.
John Adam Howe
Adam is a Baton Rouge native and attends Runnels High School. Adam is interested in studying horticulture; specifically how different soils and fertilizer systems affect plant species. He also enjoys to hunt and fish, and volunteers with the National Honors Society.
Gentry attends high school at the University Laboratory School on LSU’s campus, and is a resident of Erwinville, Louisiana. Gentry is very fond of animals, and created a business in 2013 where she cares for chickens and sells fresh yard eggs. She is also on the bowling team, a member of the color guard, and frequently spends time volunteering at animal shelters.
Alex attends Lusher Charter School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is also a New Orleans native. She enjoys caring for other people, and shows this through her participation as a camp counselor in many different camps. She hopes to pursue a science degree in college, and is interested in researching tissue and muscle growth.
Matt is a student at Ruston High School and is a resident of Ruston, Louisiana. Matt is very involved in FFA, and completed the STAR Program through Ochsner Medical Center. He is active in student government, and has volunteered with programs such as Relay for Life and assisting with sports programs for children with disabilities.
Mackenzie is a resident of Zwolle, Louisiana, and attends Ebarb High School. She is very involved in both 4-H and FFA. Through these organizations, she has excelled in many competitions. She is also involved in student government, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and participates in many activities through her Native American heritage.
Anthony is a resident of Kenner, Louisiana, and attends Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School. Anthony is an avid runner and competes in cross-country and has completed several community races. He also is a member of Navy JROTC, chess club, and the Bonnabel High School Marching Band.
Alex resides in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is a student at Caddo Parish Magnet High School. She enjoys working to improve the environment, and competing in equestrian competitions. She is also a member of JROTC.
Wyatt attends Sacred Heart High School in Ville Platte, Louisiana. At Sacred Heart High School, Wyatt is heavily involved in student government, and currently serves as the Student Council President. Wyatt is also involved in 4-H, and has served as a 4-H camp counselor for several years.
A resident of Ruston, Louisiana, Jack attends Ruston High School. Jack is very involved in FFA and has excelled in both FFA competitions and Literary Rally competitions. He also enjoys serving others through outlets such as Relay for Life, church ministries, and sport programs for handicapped children.
