He grew up in Iowa, Louisiana and was heavily involved in the Louisiana 4-H program throughout his high school years. Brandon graduated from LSU in 2014 with a degree in human resource education and has been with the university ever since. Prior to joining the College of Ag, he was an admissions counselor and recruiter with LSU Enrollment Management, recruiting students from all over the country to join the LSU family.

What drew you to LSU and the College of Agriculture?
I spent a lot of time on LSU’s campus when I was in high school because of the 4-H program, and every time I stepped foot on campus, I fell more in love with its culture and its people. When it came time to apply to colleges, LSU was the only school I applied to, and it was such a joy to spend four years here living and learning with the best in the state. The College of Ag is comprised of so many diverse majors and backgrounds, so when the opportunity came to join this Ag family, I knew I had to take it!

What advice do you have for students?
Be ready to put in the work. The college experience is one that is very special to anyone who is lucky enough to partake in it, but it doesn’t come for free. You have to be willing to put in the extra hours in order to make your educational experience the best it can be. While LSU is certainly a fun place filled with rich traditions, it is also a top tier institution of higher education, so take advantage of all of the opportunities that are available to you to learn more about your field of study.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I love chatting with students about their college experience when they come into my office. Listening to all of the different stories about what students are able to do in and out of the classroom never fails to inspire me, and I find it truly fascinating how no two students have the same journey at LSU. That, and Burger Bash. It’s the best day of the year!
