2022 Faculty Development & Enhancement Opportunities

Spring 2022

New Faculty Quick-Starts

Join us for Quick-start sessions throughout the semester. These informal sessions will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about university resources, work with other faculty to troubleshoot common teaching challenges, and network with colleagues across campus.

Teach LSU Webinar Series sponsored by Campus Federal

Have you ever wondered if your teaching is effective? Have you read your student teaching evaluations and wondered what they actually mean? Join LTC for a conversation about measuring the impact of your teaching. Prior to the webinar, attendees will be sent a list of resources to review. During the webinar, a panel of LSU professors will talk about how they measure their teaching effectiveness, followed by a Q&A session. The goal of this effort is to begin a campus conversation about how we measure quality teaching.

Summer 2022

Summer Writing Retreat - June 20-24, 2022

At the Summer Faculty Writing Retreat, faculty and graduate students will be provided with a quiet workspace, a meaningful structure, and a supportive community to engage with individual writing goals. Campus support units, such as the Office of Research & Economic Development, LSU Libraries, Graduate School, etc., will also be available during the retreat.

Fall 2022

REFRESH: New Energy for Teaching sponsored by Campus Federal - Friday, August 19, 2022

This second-annual event will bring LSU faculty together to think about new approaches to their teaching. Following the success of the 2021 event, we anticipate highlighting a student panel, veteran faculty, and an invited speaker to jump-start small group conversations about teaching.

Faculty Reading Groups sponsored by Campus Federal

Faculty Reading Groups (FRGs) are a frequently used approach among campus faculty teaching development centers. The Campus Federal sponsored Faculty Reading Groups will offer faculty the opportunity to delve into a topic through the reading of a book or other media, engage in discussion with peers, and prepare an offering to share with other faculty on the LTC website.
