The Engaged Citizen Program seeks to support and recognize the accomplishments of undergraduate students who engage significantly with their communities to address critical community needs. Engagement impacts all constituencies at LSU, including faculty, staff, students, and the community partners with whom we engage in improving the quality of life for citizens in Louisiana and across the globe.
Students who complete the Engaged Citizens Program will gain real-life experience through their service and service-learning (S-L) activities. They will have meaningful additions to their resume by making connections with organizations and building relationships with people in their communities. At graduation, ECP students will receive a medal and certificate in celebration of their work. They will also have the distinction on their college transcript—an accolade to add on applications and resumes that proves the Engaged Citizen used their knowledge and skills to serve others.
