How Workday Affects You

May 18, 2016

On July 1, 2016, LSU will be implementing Workday as its system for Human Capital Management, Finance, and Payroll.  This week’s project update focuses on the transition from paper to electronic routing of processes for employees and managers.

After July 1st, many of these processes will be part of Workday’s self-service features, to which employees will have direct access. This will include leave requests and approvals, travel authorizations and reimbursement requests, and most benefits changes. Similarly, managers will be able to enter time on behalf of employees or correct time discrepancies for employees when needed, without paper forms or unnecessary delays.

Training resources on the examples above and on many other topics are available on the LSU Workday website at www.lsu.edu/workday under the Training tab. Click on the “Employee as Self” and “Manager as Self” links for a complete list of training videos and other job aids currently available. A Workday overview video is also available on the site’s home page for those who are new to the project.

New training resources and information will be added to the site as they become available. We encourage you to check the website regularly for the most recent updates.

We look forward to serving with you as we make this transition together. If you have any questions, please feel free to use the feedback portion of the website and one of our team members will get back with you soon, typically within the next day.

Have a great Workday!
