WGS Friends Group Inaugural Event
Women in Politics Luncheon
February 7th 12 to 1:30 pm
The LSU Faculty Club
WGS/Political Science faculty member Dr. Heather Ondercin will give a talk
on voting patterns among women. Additionally, Interim Director of WGS
Dr. Rita Culross will offer an overview of the purpose and activities
of the Friends Group. This event will offer our guests an opportunity to learn more about what WGS has accomplished at LSU, as well as how becoming a member of the WGS Friends Group can benefit you, the Baton Rouge community and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at LSU.
WGS has enjoyed rapid growth and increasing success over the past few years.
In order to ensure that the program continues to flourish and serve the needs
of students, faculty and the public, we are seeking to strengthen our ties with
the Baton Rouge community by inviting notable women professionals and
other allies of gender equity to join the WGS Friends Group.
Members will be invited to learn more about the WGS program at LSU,
meet the WGS faculty and students, attend WGS events, and offer suggestions
as to how the WGS program might strategically expand and coordinate
with segments of the Baton Rouge community
with shared interests and concerns.
If you have any questions pertaining to the luncheon, the Friends Group,
or the WGS program, please contact the WGS office at 225/578-4807.
