LDAF Poultry Diagnostic Lab reports significant bird mortalities in central Lousiana

BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry Poultry Diagnostic Lab and State Veterinarian reported significant bird mortalities in the central Louisiana area over the last couple of days. Simuliotoxicosis by buffalo gnat bite is highly suspected as the cause. The gnats last for about three weeks.
