(Formerly Our Annual Alumni Homecoming Weekend)

Milestone reunions for the Classes of 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2012.

Continuing education with four hours of continuing education credit, or 0.4 CEUs. Forms will be provided for participants to certify the credit hours earned.

Dr. Nina Mouledous (LSU SVM 1985) with AVMA-PLIT will discuss practice risk management and malpractice claims avoidance.

  • Tips on avoiding claims in practice
  • Information on coverages needed

Football Tickets

We have a block of football tickets for the Arkansas game. They will be first-come, first-served, with preference given to those in the milestone reunion classes (1977, ’82, ‘87, ’92, ‘97, ’2002, ’07 & ‘12). Tickets are $90 each. You can purchase them online when you register, or send a check, payable to the LSU Foundation (tickets in the memo line) to Gretchen Morgan at LSU SVM, Skip Bertman Dr. Baton Rouge, LA 70803.

 

Alumni Giving

Many thanks to all who supported a wide variety of initiatives at the SVM this year! Alumni contributed almost $270,000 in cash this year!

 

Class giving awards this year will go to the Class of 1980, for the highest contributions ($54,825), and the Class of 1984 with the highest participation rate of 35 percent.

 

Distinguished Alumnus

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is a means to recognize alumni of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine for outstanding professional and personal achievements. It is the highest honor bestowed by the LSU SVM. The award consists of an individual plaque and the placement of the honoree’s name on a group plaque in the School of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Eligibility

Any veterinarian who is in possession of the DVM degree from LSU is eligible for the award.

 

Criteria

Candidates will be recognized for their accomplishments in veterinary medicine, to animals, to people, to the profession, and to the intersections between them.

 

Selection

The committee will review nominations and vote on the recipients (s). The committee reserves the right to not select a recipient every year. The committee will be made up of the dean, the associate dean for Student Affairs, the associate dean for Diversity and Faculty Affairs, and two of the past Distinguished Alumni.

 

Nominations for Distinguished Alumnus will be due by October 30, 2017.

 

Presentation will be made during the LVMA winter meeting alumni reception, which will be held in New Orleans on January 27, 2018.
