After 4-6 weeks the VA will mail you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) stating that you have been awarded an educational benefit. Our office requires a copy of this document before we can process your benefits.
NOTE: If you have previously used a benefit at another school then you will need to complete a Change of Program or Place of Training request on VONAPP to have the VA to switch your benefit to LSU. Once the VA has processed your request they will supply you with a new COE or award letter showing the specifics of your VA benefit. Our office requires a copy of this document before we can process your benefits.
If you are Ch. 31 Voc Rehab, your counselor will need to send a copy of your 28-1905 to our office.
Create a PREMIUM account on eBenefits. This is where you will go to check your deposits from the VA along with the history of your certification status and months of benefit remaining, setup direct deposit or update your address.
Our office will only be able to certify your enrollment once your courses have been added to your schedule. Please do not submit a request until your schedule has been completed.
Once your schedule is finalized and you have registered for your courses, you may complete the LSU Enrollment Certification Request form. Check to be sure all areas have been addressed correctly before submitting. You must complete a new LSU Enrollment Certification Request form for each semester you plan to use VA Educational Benefits. Please allow up to 30 days for the processing of your benefits.
Once your benefits are applied to your account, you must complete your registration on your MyLSU account to secure your schedule. If you do not complete your registration by the payment deadline your classes will be purged.
