Mission

UREC Tiger’s DEN is a recreationally based day camp that provides a comprehensive program promoting healthy lifestyles among school age children, ages 6 to 12, in the hope that they will continue to grow and stay healthy. During each session, campers spend 10-action packed days filled with sports activities, structured games, arts and crafts, swimming, and weekly field trips dedicated to the session’s particular theme.

Camper Ages

Tiger’s DEN provides programming for youth ages 6 to 12 years old.
(Camper must be six years of age by August 31, 2009, to register.)

Ratio

Maximum of 8 campers per counselor.

Registration Period

Priority Registration begins Monday, February 23.
Priority registration is open to returning campers, LSU Faculty or Staff, and LSU Students.

Open registration begins Monday, March 9.

Camp registration for each session closes when the maximum capacity is reached or by the registration deadline, whichever comes first. Each camp session has a maximum capacity of 100 campers.

Payment

All University affiliated registrants must present an official LSU ID at the time of registration. LSU UREC accepts Cash, Checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Payroll Deduction for those eligible.

Confirmation Materials

Once a family has registered for UREC Tiger’s DEN, a confirmation kit will be given at the time of registration. Included in this kit will be wavier and medical forms.

These materials will need to be completed and returned at least ten business days before the start of your camper’s first week of camp. Each camper will need to have all of the appropriate paperwork on file before participating in UREC Tiger’s DEN Camp.

Confirmation packets for registrations taken over the phone will be mailed at the time of registration. For faster service, please provide a campus address if applicable.

TIGER’S DEN ORIENTATION
May 19 or 20, 2009 | UREC SRC Classroom 1 | 6 p.m.

All campers and parents are invited to attend Tiger’s DEN Orientation on either May 19 or 20 at 6 p.m. in the UREC Student Recreation Center classrooms. This orientation will be an opportunity to meet the Camp Director and counselors, learn camp policies, as well as plans, and for each camp family to get aquatinted with everything Tiger’s DEN.
