T. Caleb Warr, the 2009 UREC Tiger’s DEN Camp Director, enters this summer with many years experience working with children in a recreational setting. In his four years with LSU UREC, he has undertaken multiple supervisory and leadership roles in the department. From supervising employees, to scheduling staff, to instructing groups in teambuilding activities, Caleb is a proven leader.
In addition to his work with LSU UREC, Caleb has over four years experience working with recreational summer camps. At camps Kahdalea and Chosatonga, Caleb planned and guided school-aged children on wilderness camping trips ranging from one to six days. He also instructed climbing, kayaking, and biking activities. His responsibilities at the camp included scheduling, guiding trips, and ensuring the safety of the campers. Most recently, Caleb has worked with the Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School where he taught climbing in a wilderness environment.
Caleb holds an American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED certification. In addition, he is a certified Single Pitch Instructor by the American Mountain Guides Association and a Wilderness First Responder by the Wilderness Medical Association. Previously, he has been a American Red Cross Lifeguard and was a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout.
Caleb is a graduate of LSU. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, rock climbing, and cooking. The energy, excitement, and experience Caleb brings this summer is a great complement to the UREC Tiger’s DEN mission to develop, educate, and nurture young campers on incorporating recreation as a part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
