What’s NEW in 2012!

Building off summer 2011’s introduction of “KidFit”, Healthy Lifestyles personnel will offer opportunities for age-appropriate programming and education around fitness, nutrition, and overall personal well-being.

Additionally, UREC Adventure Education will offer age appropriate programming and education regarding topics such as introductory outdoor living skills as well as camp favorites like canoeing and fishing the LSU lakes. 

These new partnerships will be incorporated into camp themes and all activities will be catered to specific age ranges.

UREC Tiger’s DEN is a recreationally based day camp that provides a comprehensive program promoting healthy lifestyles among school age children, ages 6 to 12, in the hope that they will continue to grow and stay healthy.  During each session, campers spend action packed days filled with sports activities, structured games, arts and crafts, swimming, and weekly field trips dedicated to the session’s particular theme.
 

Develop

Children develop many skills during the summer such as social interaction, sports related skills, healthy living skills, exercise, nutrition, and critical thinking.

Educate

We strive to foster growth in campers through educating about good sportsmanship, community living, working together, and depending on each other.

Nurture

Our counselors make sure that each child is cared for and treated with respect.  Our camp is successful when both campers and counselors work together.
