UREC GroupX is included with all UREC memberships. From Gentle Yoga to Advanced Cycle, UREC GroupX classes offer members the opportunity to motivate each other while working with a trained instructor toward a common goal of healthy living.

 

NEW!  Choose your Workout
Now included on the UREC GroupX schedule are icons to help you select a class that best compliments your fitness level and choreography ability.  By using this new system, you can progress through the GroupX schedule.  Reference the key below for a short description of each level.

CLASS INTENSITY

all_levels

All Fitness Levels
This class is appropriate for all levels of fitness with no prior group fitness class experience needed.
Recommended for all fitness levels.

Intermediate Fitness Level

Intermediate
This class is designed for those who have prior experience to the class style.
Recommended for participants that have engaged in a continuous exercise regiment for the previous three (3) months or longer.

Advanced Fitness Level

Advanced
This class is designed for those who have prior experience to the class style.
Recommended for participants that have engaged in a continuous exercise regiment for the previous six (6) months or longer.

DEGREE OF CHOREOGRAPHY*

1_choreography

Low
Class includes basic choreography at a moderate pace. No previous experience to class style necessary.

Level 2 Choreography

Medium
Class builds on basic choreography incorporating intermediate moves at a progressive pace.  Previous experience in the class style recommended.

Level 3 Choreography

Advanced
Class includes advanced choreography at a continuous pace. Previous experience in the class style recommended.

*Choreography levels apply only to cardio classes.  Classes such as pilates, yoga, and cycling incorporate little to no choreography.

 

How to check-in to a UREC GroupX class

  • Check-in at the desk located at the end of the 2nd floor hallway in the UREC SRC.
  • Check-in begins 30 minutes prior to each class.  You will need to present a valid LSU ID or UREC membership.
  • Once you are checked in, you will receive a card reserving your space  for the class.
  • You will be asked to present your card to the instructor at the beginning of class.   Participants that have not signed in at the check-in desk will not be allowed to participate.
  • Arrive early as there are limited spots in each class.
  • Nobody will be allowed to enter a class after it has begun.   This is for your safety and the safety of other participants.
