Geaux Active Employee Wellness is Louisiana State University’s health promotion program designed especially for the faculty and staff of LSU. As the name may imply, Geaux Active Employee Wellness is not just about leading a physically active lifestyle, but rather encouraging individuals to take an active approach in his/her quest for health and well-being. Geaux Active Employee Wellness is a multifaceted program that encompasses the five key areas of health: physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual.

UREC Seven Day All Access
University Recreation offers LSU faculty and staff a 7-Day All Access Pass. This one-time offer allows faculty and staff to utilize UREC facilities, services, and programs over a period of seven consecutive days. To register for this pass, visit UREC Guest Services and present a valid LSU Faculty/Staff ID. 
 NOTE: Personal Training, Intramural Sports, and Specialty Course participation are NOT included. Send UREC an email if you are interested in this program.



Motivate Friends & Family with UREC’s +1
You don’t have to be alone in your pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Many people are motivated by working out with a friend or family member. UREC’s Plus 1 membership allows a UREC faculty/staff member to extend their membership rate to one person of their choosing. This guest/member does not need to be LSU affiliated beyond their sponsor. Sponsor must hold a valid UREC membership.

Trek the MRT Pedometer Challenge
Back by popular demand and better than ever!
Last summer, over 900 LSU employees made the virtual journey along the Mississippi River Trail (MRT) 36 times. That’s more than 220,000 miles!  Trek the MRT pedometer challenge returns with a new set of rules and rewards for 2008. Teams of three to five individuals will set out to virtually walk the MRT by tracking miles traveled as measured by a pedometer. Teams and individuals will be rewarded for reaching goals along the way. Is your team up for the challenge?

TIGER TRACKS
Walking & Jogging Club
Begins February 6, 2008

Meets Wednesdays 5:15 • 
UREC SRC

Geaux Active Employee Wellness walking/jogging club allows faculty and staff an opportunity to step outside the office and socialize with fellow Tigers while walking or jogging around campus. Groups meet in the circle drive
in front of the UREC Student Recreation Complex weekly to set-out for a two to three mile journey.
