OLLI at LSU Announces Spring 2014 Course Selections

BATON ROUGE – The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, or OLLI, at LSU announces the release of its new fall 2014 course schedule. Courses begin the week of Feb. 17. Registration is already open for current members.
 

More than 80 courses feature a broad range of topics, including “Louisiana Creole Language Through Folklore,” “Great Gardens of the World,” “Shakespeare and the English Language,” and “The Right to Privacy in the United States.”
 

“We have an exciting and diverse line up of courses this spring, organized by our devoted volunteer leadership who plan our courses each semester,” said Program Director Kori Chisham. “OLLI at LSU is a community of active older adults and we encourage anyone over the age of 50 who loves learning to join.”
 

OLLI at LSU is a membership-based learning community of adults age 50 and over. There are no exams or grades at OLLI. Its comprehensive collection of courses provides opportunities for members to investigate interesting topics in a relaxed but stimulating educational and social environment.
 

OLLI at LSU has more than 1,000 members and consists of five chapters: Lagniappe Chapter in Baton Rouge; Cajun Prairie Chapter in Eunice; Felicianas Chapter in St. Francisville and New Roads; Ascension Chapter in Gonzalez; and Assumption Chapter in Pierre Part.

OLLI at LSU is one of 117 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes located on university and college campuses from Maine to Hawaii.
