LSU’s F. King Alexander to Present on Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act at the APLU Annual Meeting

BATON ROUGE – LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander will present on “President Obama’s Proposal and Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act” at the 126th annual meeting of the Association of Public Land Grant Universities, or APLU, taking place Nov. 10-12 at the Marriott Wardman Park, 2660 Woodley Road NW, in Washington, D.C.
 

Alexander’s session, which is open to council members only, will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, from 10:25 - 10:50 a.m. in the Virginia Suite. Alexander will be joined by Morgan State University President David Wilson to discuss possible changes in student financial aid, including President Obama’s proposals.
 

Keppler will be a part of a panel on ¬¬“Using National Survey Data to Increase Student Success” on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 8:30 - 10 a.m. in room Maryland B.  This session will highlight common issues institutions face in student learning and engagement, and how national survey data has guided implementation of practices and policies to address those issues.
 

This year’s APLU annual meeting will be the largest ever held in Washington, D.C., with more than 1,200 leaders from public higher education scheduled to attend. The APLU annual meeting has become the premier event for public university leaders to share opinions on emerging topics, gain valuable professional development experience, and meet colleagues from across the nation. With the myriad challenges facing public higher education, it has never been more important for university officials to come together and discuss strategies for the future.
