BATON ROUGE – LSU will kick off the 2013-2014 Readers & Writers season with acclaimed Louisiana filmmaker Zack Godshall, LSU alumnus and filmmaker in residence, at the Baton Rouge Gallery on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.

A member of LSU’s celebrated creative writing faculty, Godshall is renowned for films such as “Low and Behold,” “God’s Architects” and his newest documentary “Water Like Stone.” His features and documentaries evocatively capture the rough edges and the beating heart of life in south Louisiana and across the United States. After the presentation, stay for Readers & Writers’ special season opening reception. Attendees will have the chance to meet and mingle with other arts- and literature-loving Baton Rougeans and learn more about how to support the vital mission of Readers & Writers. Both the talk and the reception are free and open to the public.
