Hispanic Student Cultural Society to Host Cultural Showcase
BATON ROUGE – LSU’s Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Hispanic Student Cultural Society will hold its annual Cultural Showcase on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in Echo Circle of Free Speech Alley. Cultural Showcase is the capstone event to Hispanic Heritage Month, which is a month dedicated to celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic people.
Participants can expect to see various facets of Hispanic and Latin American culture through music, dance, games and more. Events will include a DJ playing various genres of Latin American music, a dance pair that will be offering free salsa lessons, a performance by LSU’s Tiger Ballroom Dance club and tables with representatives from a variety of multicultural student organizations. This event gives participants an opportunity to become more aware of Hispanic culture, interact with people from various cultural backgrounds and become connected to the university through student involvement. The event is free and open to the public.
