BATON ROUGE – The LSU Student Union Theater in collaboration with the LSU Dance Department has cast 10 dancers for the premiere of “Racine D’or,” or “The Golden Root,” an original modern dance created by NYC-based Movement Workshop Group to be performed Nov. 2 at the LSU Union Theater.

The choreography is being taught to the ensemble by LSU Adjunct Professor of Dance Christine Chrest with support from Dance Department Head Sandra Parks.
“Racine D’or” is inspired by Cajun folklore and includes live music by four-time Grammy nominee Cedric Watson et Bijou Creole.
