Panhellenic Council Welcomes the Founding Member Class of Alpha Phi Sorority
BATON ROUGE – On Friday, Sept. 13, LSU’s Greek community will join Alpha Phi International Sorority in a bid day celebration welcoming Alpha Phi’s founding new member class. The celebration will take place at the LSU Press Building on West Lakeshore Drive at 6 p.m. Alpha Phi and the Panhellenic Council attribute this huge success to their seamless partnership and determination throughout the colonization process.
The Panhellenic community has been in the extension process for the last two years and is enthusiastic about welcoming the ladies of Alpha Phi and bringing their Delta Tau chapter back to LSU. The colonization process officially kicked off with Alpha Phi participating in the ice water round of sorority recruitment Aug. 18-19, followed by their formal recruitment events from Sept. 3-12.
Alpha Phi will have three Educational Leadership Consultants on campus for the next year educating their new members about both the international sorority and the life of a Greek woman at LSU.
Linda Boland, Alpha Phi international president, said, “Returning to LSU is such a milestone for our organization. We have been overwhelmed by the hospitality our team has received, and we look forward to the future of Delta Tau chapter of Alpha Phi. Geaux Tigers!”
“Working with Alpha Phi has been a once in a lifetime experience, and I want to thank our Greek community for their incredible support throughout the colonization process,” said Lauren Landry, PHC director of extension.
Congratulations to the founding member class of Delta Tau chapter of Alpha Phi International Sorority. The Panhellenic community has an even brighter future ahead with now 11 NPC chapters, 13 sororities total, who are working together to provide a sorority experience like no other.
