Experts to explore policy questions for Louisiana and beyond
BATON ROUGE – LSU will host a forum titled “Internationalization and Education: Breaking Boundaries” on Wednesday, Sept. 25, beginning at 9 a.m., in the Holliday Forum of the LSU Journalism Building on campus. The forum will be free to attend and open to the public.
“Internationalization and Education: Breaking Boundaries” will ask the tough questions in a daylong discussion among scholars on the implications of globalization and education.
The forum is sponsored by the Manship School of Mass Communication’s Reilly Center for Media & Public Affairs and the College of Human Sciences & Education’s Curriculum Theory Project and French Education Project.
The symposium brings together scholars from across the globe to examine the implications of the intersections of globalization and education. Specifically, it will discuss ideas related to human rights, difference, ethics and pedagogy in an increasingly globalized and international world.
Scholars participating will be:
- Denise Egea of LSU;
- Zdenko Kodelja of the University of Primorska, in Slovenia;
- Dean Ana Maria Mass of the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, in Argentina; and
- Dean Hua Zhang of Hang Zhou Normal University in China.
One outcome of the forum will be a book to be published for circulation by 2015.
