LSU Museum of Art to Host “Walter Anderson’s Horn Island Through the Eyes of C.C. Lockwood” Gallery Talk Event Sept. 26

BATON ROUGE – The LSU Museum of Art will feature a special gallery talk titled, “Walter Anderson’s Horn Island Through the Eyes of C.C. Lockwood” on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the museum, located on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street in downtown Baton Rouge.

 

The talk is presented in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition, “Walter Inglis Anderson: Everything I See Is New and Strange,” on display through Oct. 13.

 

During the talk, Lockwood will discuss how Anderson inspired his work through the artist’s connection to nature, his desire to totally immerse himself in the elements and the time he spent in the wilderness of Horn Island. Lockwood will also read from his book, “Gulf Coast: Where Land Meets Sea,” present select photographs and will be available for book signing.

 

Tickets for the event are $15 for LSU Museum of Art members and $20 for non-members. Seating is limited, and refreshments will be served.
