LSU Tiger Marching Band to Host Annual Tigerama Event Oct. 29 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Tiger Marching Band, Golden Girls and Colorguard have entertained millions of LSU fans as they perform before, during and after football games at Tiger Stadium, as well as other special events locally, nationally and abroad.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, LSU fans will once again have a chance to witness one of those special events, as the Tiger Band will present this year’s annual Tigerama concert at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
For more than 30 years, Tigerama has served a special concert event held to celebrate not only the current LSU Tiger football season, but also highlight the many talented musical and performance ensembles that are part of the LSU School of Music’s Department of Bands.
“Tigerama is a great way to see the best of Tiger Band, as well as a great recruiting tool for our department,” said LSU Director of Athletic Bands Roy King.
In addition to the evening Tigerama performance, there will also be a special 9:30 a.m. daytime performance for area schoolchildren, also in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Tickets for this performance are $10 each, and include a meet-and-greet session with Tiger Band, Golden Girls and Colorguard members following the performance.
Doors for the evening Tigerama event will open at 5 p.m., and dress for the event is tailgate attire.
The event includes performances by the LSU Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds and Tiger Band, featuring the Golden Girls and Colorguard, as well as the LSU Cheerleaders.
A special VIP reception and silent auction event will take place from 5-6:30 p.m., prior to the concert beginning at 7 p.m. The auction will include but is not limited to special LSU collectibles, LSU and Tiger Band experiences and unique, one-of-a-kind items. The $100 VIP ticket price includes pre-event entrance, access to the silent auction and complimentary catering, live musical entertainment, pictures with members of the Golden Girls and Colorguard and reserved “front and center” stadium seating. General admission tickets for Tigerama are $20 each and $10 for students.
While proceeds from this year’s Tigerama will go directly into the Tiger Band account with the Tiger Athletic Foundation, ticket sale proceeds will go to fund the entire Tiger Band organization’s planned trip to Ireland to march in the world famous 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin.
“This will be the first time that the full Tiger Band will be able to make a trip overseas like this,” King said. “It’s a very exciting honor for us to bring our Tiger spirit to such an outstanding event like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Irish capitol city.”
Tickets for Tigerama are available online through www.lsutigerama.com or by calling 800-960-TKTS. General admission seating cost is $20, with a special $10 ticket price for elementary, high school and college students. Also, Benny’s Car Wash & Oil Change will be giving away a free car wash service for each Tigerama ticket sold. Tickets for Tigerama can be purchased online and printed remotely for convenience.
