Remodeled LSU Museum of Art Store to Hold Grand Re-Opening Event Aug. 1
BATON ROUGE – The LSU Museum of Art Store, located on the ground level of the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., has undergone a recent remodeling and will hold a grand re-opening event on Thursday, Aug. 1, from 5-9 p.m. The grand re-opening event will feature door prizes, refreshments, sale items and specials.
The following local Louisiana artists will also be on hand to discuss their work: Shawn Cook of BlueBird Jewelry; Misty Taylor of NOLA Metals; and Lizi Beard-Ward, who will discuss her original art and digital imagery.
Renovations to the LSU Museum of Art Store include painting, new interior displays, improved in-store flow and updated exterior signage. Changes to the interior will also allow the store to bring in additional merchandise, including new pieces from popular Gulf Coast artist Walter Anderson, which coincide with the museum’s upcoming exhibition, “Everything I See Is New and Strange,” beginning Aug. 2.
The LSU Museum of Art Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The store is closed every Monday, as well as on Easter Sunday, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
