Academic Sub-Committee to Meet Friday; Live Streaming Available
BATON ROUGE – The fifth meeting of the Academic Sub-Committee of the Transition Advisory Team will take place on Friday, July 19, at the LSU AgCenter in Efferson Hall. The sub-committee is part of the LSU2015 process for the reorganization of LSU. The meeting will be streamed live via the Internet at www.lsu.edu/tat.
The Academic Sub-Committee will meet from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in room 214 of Efferson Hall.
The sub-committee will open the meeting with a review of the LSU2015 process, followed by a presentation on the LOUIS Library Consortium given by Sara Zimmerman, executive director of the Louis Library Consortium. The sub-committee will also discuss academics at the Health Sciences Centers in both New Orleans and Shreveport and will close the meeting with a review of the sub-committee’s draft report and recommendations.
The Academic Sub-Committee met previously on Feb. 28 at LSU, on March 15 at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and April 5 and May 13 at the LSU AgCenter.
This sub-committee is focusing on inter- and intra-campus innovation and collaboration, academic standards and the strategic deployment of academic programs and leveraging technology for learning. It is co-chaired by William Jenkins, LSU System president emeritus, and Dr. Lester W. Johnson, professor and chief of surgery and director of Surgical Services at LSU Health Sciences Center.
