Major Gift Announcement to be Held on July 16 for LSU College of Engineering’s Expansion
BATON ROUGE – LSU’s College of Engineering will hold a press conference on Tuesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. to announce a major gift for its “Breaking New Ground” campaign to support the renovation of Patrick F. Taylor Hall and engineering expansion.
The announcement will be held in Room 3304 of Patrick F. Taylor Hall, located on Nicholson Extension on the Baton Rouge campus. Scheduled to attend are Gov. Bobby Jindal, LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander, Campaign Co-Chair Phyllis M. Taylor, and LSU alumni Jonathan E. Martin and Roy O. Martin III, along with members of the Martin family.
As part of a state-led initiative to grow the number of engineering, computer science and construction management professionals in Louisiana, LSU’s College of Engineering is committed to expanding its facilities to accommodate existing student demand and future growth. This announcement supports the private portion of the $100 million public/private partnership to renovate and expand LSU’s College of Engineering facilities and infrastructure.
The “Breaking New Ground” campaign will bolster the next generation of engineering education at LSU and a stronger College of Engineering. The campaign website, www.lsubreakingnewground.com, offers information on elevating the level of engineering excellence in Louisiana.
