Journal of Public Policy & Marketing Names Judith Folse to Editorial Review Board
BATON ROUGE – Judith Anne Garretson Folse, V. Price LeBlanc Developing Scholar Professor in the Department of Marketing, was recently named to the editorial review board of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. The journal, published by the American Marketing Association, addresses the dynamic relationship between marketing and the public interest. Folse was invited by editor David Stewart.
“This journal has long been a leader of publishing research that assess issues important to marketers, consumers and policy makers, focusing on issues related to nutrition and health, social responsibility and intellectual property, for instance,” Folse said. “It is an honor to be on the editorial review board alongside prominent academic researchers whose research I have long respected and the FDA and FTC decision makers, who carefully consider the research published in this journal.”
Folse has been published three times in the journal since 1998, most recently in 2011.
According to its website, the journal is a source for understanding today’s most important issues that rest at the nexus of marketing and public policy. Each issue features a wide-ranging forum for the research, findings, and discussion of marketing topics related to business and government, including, but not limited to, issues on innovation, economic development, globalization, ecology, safety and security, nutrition and health, consumer vulnerability and protection, ethics and social responsibility, regulation and deregulation, antitrust, privacy, and intellectual property.
The Department of Marketing at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business prepares its students for careers in management, advertising, buying, product development, retailing and sales. Through its Internship in Marketing Program, students are able to apply the concepts and principles of the classroom and earn course credit for their practical work experience.
