BATON ROUGE – LSU School of Education faculty members Cyndi DiCarlo, Sarah Pierce and Jennifer Baumgartner have been awarded Research Article of the Year by the Association of Childhood Education International, or ACEI, for their article “Whole-Group Instruction Practices and Children’s Attention: A Preliminary Report.”

The ACEI annually selects a Distinguished Education Research Article out of all of the articles published in the previous year’s volume of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education, or JRCE. The winning article is selected by members of the JRCE Editorial Advisory Board based on its illustration of superior research and excellent writing on a topic of high import for the field. Authors of the winning article also receive a $1,000 award from the journal’s publisher, Taylor & Francis. The award was presented in April 2013, during the Institute for Global Education Diplomacy in Washington, D.C
