Timothy Chandler New Chair of Rucks Department of Management
BATON ROUGE – The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business has announced that it has named Timothy Chandler chair of the Rucks Department of Management, effective July 1. Chandler serves currently as co-chair of the department and is taking over fully following the departure of Co-chair Hettie Richardson.
“I am delighted to continue facilitating the work of the management department faculty, whose commitment to scholarship and teaching have provided an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment for our students,” Chandler said. “I am honored to have such dedicated colleagues and proud of the outstanding preparation of our graduates.”
An LSU employee since 1990, Chandler has research interests in private and public sector labor relations and the regulation of employment practices.
“We wish Dr. (Hettie) Richardson all the best at TCU,” said E. J. Ourso College Dean Richard D. White Jr. “During his time as co-chair and even before that, Dr. Chandler has proven himself to be a tremendous asset. As the chair of the department, the strategic plan that he helped design and put in place for the department will continue to be followed.”
Chandler earned his Ph.D. in labor and industrial relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991, and his B.A. in political science from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1985.
