New LSU Board Student Member Elected
BATON ROUGE – LSU junior John Woodard has been elected the new student member of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
Woodard, a native of Covington, was elected to a one-year term on the governing board at a meeting of LSU System student body presidents on Monday, May 13, in Baton Rouge. He is succeeding Justin Mannino of Baton Rouge whose term expired.
Woodard’s term on the LSU Board of Supervisors begins June 1, and he will be sworn in at the board’s June meeting in Baton Rouge.
A finance major with a minor in leadership development, Woodard was recently elected as the new LSU Student Government president and was sworn in on April 17.
Woodard’s other campus activities include having served as LSU Student Government assistant director of external affairs, participating in STRIPES as a small group leader and membership in the LSU Student Finance Association. He has also participated as an American Israel Public Affairs Committee campus leader, Tigers for Israel legislative coordinator, EMPOWER facilitator, Kappa Sigma Fraternity rush chairman, Kappa Sigma Fraternity pledge class president, Aspen Heights for Africa and is a former member of the LSU varsity tennis team.
