Real Estate Development and Reuse Course Next in Series
BATON ROUGE – LSU Executive Education will offer a Real Estate Development and Reuse course May 7-8, at the Business Education Complex. This is a core course in the Certified Louisiana Economic Developer certification series. The course is designed to provide economic and community development leaders with the tools to identify and develop industrial sites that meet the market needs of investors.
According to LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler, attendees will learn about the land planning process, how to quantify infrastructure requirements, how to anticipate market needs and how to structure a spec building program to meet company needs both for prepared land and buildings. The course is taught by an economic development professional with private sector experience in industrial and business park development and sales.
“Site development is one of the most pressing issues in Louisiana economic development,” Kistler said. “Communities that lack prepared sites and buildings are typically eliminated from serious consideration by investors before they even learn of the opportunity. This course is intended to prepare economic developers to be competitive on the national level.”
The CLED program is presented by LSU Executive Education in conjunction with Louisiana Economic Development and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association. The program is sponsored by Southwestern Electric Power Company.
